Begin by trekking along the north face of the majestic Osorno Volcano, followed by a serene boat ride across the emerald waters of Lake Todos Los Santos. Continue with a two-day trek through the stunning Puntiagudo Volcano valley, and conclude your journey with a relaxing soak in natural hot springs on the shores of Lake Rupanco, nestled at the base of the Casablanca Volcano.

Four days of a deep connection to nature and to the families of pioneers that live in these remote lands for a life-changing active experience.

Itinerary

  • DAY 1: THE DESOLACIÓN TRAIL, OSORNO VOLCANO & LAKE LLANQUIHUE

    Our adventure begins in Puerto Varas with a short briefing on the adventure ahead of us, led by our local team. After a 90-minute drive, we will reach Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park and the gate to the Desolación Trail. This 14-kilometer mountain pass on the northern face of the perfectly conic Osorno Volcano will take us through a variety of landscapes, including temperate rainforest, volcanic terrain, and a steppe-like plateau with spectacular views of lakes and snow-capped mountains.

    We end the day by reaching the shore of Lake Todos Los Santos and our lodge at Petrohué. Evening briefing for the next days and dinner. Box lunch and dinner included. We will spend the night at the comfortable Petrohué Lodge.

  • DAY 2: LAKE TODOS LOS SANTOS - EL CALLAO, PUNTIAGUDO VOLCANO VALLEY

    After breakfast, we will walk to the Petrohué dock where our host will be waiting for us for a 1-hour and 20-minute boat ride to reach the shore of the valley and start the first leg of our trek. The trek spans 5 to 6 hours, guiding you through a stunning landscape of rolling grasslands, lush farms, and serene temperate rainforests. Along the way, you'll encounter rivers to cross, suspension bridges to traverse, and cascading waterfalls to admire.

    Around 4 pm, we will reach El Callao, where we will spend the night at a local family lodge. Breakfast, box lunch and dinner included. Overnight in the Valley of El Callao at a family home.

  • DAY 3: PUNTIAGUDO VOLCANO VALLEY, LAKE RUPANCO, AND CASABLANCA VOLCANO

    Today, our journey takes us to the stunning shores of Lake Rupanco. The 18 km (11-mile) hike includes a climb of 400 meters (1,300 feet), followed by a descent of 715 meters (2,345 feet), offering a rewarding blend of challenge and breathtaking scenery along the way.

    This is our most demanding hiking day of the journey, but the challenge is richly rewarded with breathtaking landscapes and a hearty, homemade family dinner awaiting us at our hostess's home. Breakfast, box lunch and dinner included. We overnight at the Las Gaviotas family lodge.

  • DAY 4: LAKE RUPANCO HOT SPRINGS AND RETURN TO PUERTO VARAS

    We start our day in the best possible way — at the natural hot springs of Lake Rupanco. From the village dock, we’ll embark on a scenic 30-minute boat ride to the sandy shores of Rupanco. Once there, we’ll grab our shovels and dig into the sand to create our very own hot spring pools. Sit back, relax, and soak in the tranquil warmth while enjoying breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains. We will enjoy an incredible lunch at the home of a local.

    After lunch, we will begin our return to Puerto Varas.

    Boat navigation: 50 minutes (round trip)
